Candied Sweet Potatoes Recipe - Ingredients: 5 medium sized sweet potatoes 8 tbsp salted butter 1 cup granulated sugar 1/4 cup brown sugar 1 tsp ground cinnamon 1/4 tsp ground ginger 1 tbsp water 1 tbsp pure vanilla extract Pecan nuts, for garnish Steps: 1. Wash and peel the sweet potatoes. Chop to ½ inch thick slices. 2. Bake for 10 minutes at 350 F. 3. For the sauce, melt the butter in a saucepan over medium heat. 4. Sprinkle in the white and brown sugar, ground cinnamon and ground ginger. Add water and mix to combine. Add in the vanilla extract. 5. Once the sauce starts boiling, add the previously baked sweet potatoes. 6. Cook for 15 minutes until sweet potatoes are soft and syrup has reduced and thickened. Remove from the heat. 7. Carefully arrange sweet potatoes on a baking pan. Pour the remaining syrup on top and sprinkle previously chopped pecan nuts. 8.
