Wheel cakes are basically stuffed pancakes that you can hold in your hand, no utensils or plates needed, and enjoy on the go.
Known as "Imagawayaki," wheel cakes are a dessert that has become a signature street food in Japan and Taiwan. But what makes them so cool is the way they're made. The "it's the journey, not the destination" saying really applies here. Every order is made fresh right in front of your eyes. Pancake-like batter is poured into a long, heated pan that cooks them low and slow. While the cakes are baking, they're topped with fillings that include custard, boba, chocolate, and bananas.
