a.k.a. Mustaccioli and Mostaccioli
Soft, mildly sweetened, spiced chocolate cookies glazed with dark chocolate. These are similar to gingerbread cookies, but with the flavors of cloves, cinnamon, orange zest, nutmeg and the undertone of espresso mingling with the chocolate. The cookies are accompanied by Laica Etoile Rouge hazelnut cream filled milk chocolate balls.
Beverage: Kakawa Chocolate House’s ’1666 Italian Citrus Elixir’ thickened with a little cornstarch. This is a dark, rich, and cloyingly sweet drinking chocolate (lightly flavored with cinnamon, vanilla, orange, and lemon zest) that is meant to be sipped on which is why it’s usually served in a demitasse cup. Anymore than that would be too much!
(All-purpose flour, ground almonds, Pernigotti cocoa powder, baking powder, demerara sugar, spices (ground cloves, cinnamon, and nutmeg), orange zest, clover honey, espresso made with Starbucks Italian Roast, extra virgin olive oil, vanilla extract, and water were used to make these cookies. Coconut oil and Godiva 72% dark chocolate were used to make the glaze.)
