Cheesy Poutine Nachos by Julie Nolke
Combining two of the best dishes for the ultimate cheesy snack! RECIPE Ingredients: 2 tablespoons cornstarch 2 tablespoons water 6 tablespoons butter 1/4 cup all-purpose flour 2 cloves garlic, finely minced 2 cans 10 oz beef broth, undiluted 1/2 tall can Canadian beer Pepper Tortilla Chips Cheese Curds 2 tablespoons scallions, chopped Ingredients: 1. In a small bowl, dissolve the cornstarch in the water. Set aside. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. 2. In a saucepan, melt the butter. Add the flour and cook for about 5 minutes, stirring constantly. Add the garlic and cook for about 30 seconds. Add the broth and beer and bring to a boil, stirring with a whisk. Stir in the cornstarch and simmer for 3 to 5 minutes or until the sauce thickens. Season with pepper. 3. Assemble the nachos by layering the cheese curds and chips. Place in the oven for 5 minutes until the curds are warmed and slightly melted. Remove from oven and pour over the gravy.
