A warm, gooey, sweet apple pie filling inside a a flaky, buttery, sour cream pie pastry crust.
Well, a filling with a flavor reminiscent to apple pie filling. There’s zero apples in this pie.
Instead of sliced apples the pie pastry crust was filled with broken RITZ Crackers (Original) and dotted with unsalted butter before a thickened, syrupy mixture of castor sugar, light brown sugar, cream of tartar, cinnamon, nutmeg, small tapioca pearls, and lemon juice was poured over the crackers. The pie was then sealed with a top crust and baked.
