A hearty meal of crispy fried chicken breast, cooked carrots, peas, and mashed potato with gravy? This dish is sweeter than it appears.
Fried Chicken Breast: First the golden brown exterior of a cooled white cake was sliced off. The remaining cake was crumbled up, mixed with cream cheese frosting, formed into the shape of a chicken breast, then placed into the freezer for easy handling. Melted unsalted butter, gingerbread marshmallows, and crushed whole grain wheat flakes cereal were combined and used to create the crunchy crust around the frozen “chicken”. The completed confection was allowed to warm to room temperature before serving.
Carrots and Peas : Peanut butter fudge made with unsalted butter, sugar, evaporated milk, creamy peanut butter, vanilla extract, marshmallow creme, and food coloring gels. The orange-colored peanut butter fudge was transferred to a parchment paper lined baking dish, refrigerated, then cut out with a small circular cutter. The green-colored peanut butter fudge was hand rolled into little spheres, then refrigerated until firm.
Mashed Potatoes and Gravy: Caramel sauce poured over a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
