Stout Cupcakes With Maple Bacon Frosting

Stout Cupcakes With Maple Bacon Frosting

For Cake
Box Cake Mix
Bottle of beer (I picked chocolate stout)

For Bacon
1/3 Cup Maple Syrup
2 Strips Bacon Diced Into Small Pieces
1/4 Cup Sugar
1/3 Cup Water

For Frosting
1 Cup Heavy Whipping Cream
1/4 Cup Maple Syrup
Confectioner’s Sugar

For the Cake-

Follow Directions on box, but substitute beer in lieu of water. Pour into cupcake tins and bake.

While cake is baking, make the frosting. Take a chilled bowl and add maple syrup and whipping cream.

Beat cream on high until peaks begin to form. Add sugar in by 1/4 cup at a time, until desired consistency. Put into refrigerator to chill.

To candy the bacon.

Begin by dicing bacon and tossing it into a hot pan. Cook bacon until lightly crisped and add water, syrup and sugar.
Turn heat to low and slowly cook sugar/water mixture until hardball stage.

Pour mixture onto waxed paper to cool and harden.

Once finished frost cooled cupcakes and add bacon onto top.
