At Christmas time, my friend Morgann is busier than the Keebler elves pulling an all-nighter at the cookie factory. She churns out batches of cookies, truffles, cookie bars, and haystacks before arranging them carefully into a container wrapped up with a pretty ribbon. Then, she jumps into her reindeer-powered sleigh with her husband Erik to deliver all the goodies to their friends and family.
When a knock came at my door yesterday, I knew my cookie package had arrived. I think Erik was reluctant to give up the goods. He was staring at the package like Gollum unwilling to part with the ring of power. And who can blame him? They’re so tasty! But he did let go, eventually, and it was time to chow down!
Morgann and Erik are good people and receiving my cookie package is a fun Christmas highlight for me. Pictured above is a small sampling of Morgann’s baked goods. For your drooling pleasure, they are: ginger cookies, chocolate crinkles, a peanut butter kiss, and a cookie dough truffle (the one wearing the Santa hat).
