Bang Bang Fried Enoki
Craving something crispy, crunchy, fried, and covered in sauce? 🤤 @agrooveforfood's Bang Bang Fried Enoki Mushrooms are golden, crackly, and coated in a spicy-creamy bang bang sauce that'll satisfy every craving. 🍄🔥
Ingredients:
🍄 Enoki Mushrooms
- 20 oz (600g) enoki mushrooms, sliced lengthwise into strips
- 4–5 cups neutral oil, for frying
🌶️ Bang Bang Sauce
- ½ cup Kewpie mayo
- ¼ cup Thai sweet chili sauce
- 3 tbsp sriracha (or to taste)
🥣 Wet Batter
- 1½ cups all-purpose flour
- 2 tsp smoked paprika
- 2 tsp garlic powder
- 2 tsp onion powder
- 1½ tsp black pepper
- 2 tsp salt
- 1 tsp baking powder
- ¼ cup cornstarch
- 1½ cups unflavored sparkling water
Directions:
1. Slice the enoki mushrooms lengthwise into strips.
2. Whisk together the bang bang sauce ingredients and set aside.
3. Mix all of the batter ingredients until smooth.
4. Coat the mushrooms in the batter, letting any excess drip off.
5. Heat the oil to 350°F and fry in batches for 2–3 minutes, until golden and crispy.
6. Toss the fried mushrooms in the bang bang sauce or serve it on the side for dipping.
