Tram Painter has added a photo to the pool:
Pomodoro, the Italian name for the humble tomato. It literally means Apple of Gold -- pomo: apple, d'oro: of gold.
The English initially thought it was poisonous because it is a member of the nightshade family. It is classified as a berry and comes from Central America. It was introduced to Europe by the Spanish, who observed it being cultivated by the Aztecs.
