Bronze Chocolate

Bronze Chocolate

When I saw a tweet early in the morning from Soma Chocolate as COVID-19 self-isolation was beginning to set in and I realized I hadn’t stocked up properly on chocolate, I immediately ordered. Another in my chocolate series.

My third bar blossomed on my tongue like an instant drug. Mr. Salazar Costa Esmeraldas, Ecuador, won Bronze in the Chocolate Awards World 2018. No wonder. Costas Esmeraldas, a single estate cacao farm owned by the Salazar family, grows its cacao among fruit trees: oranges, limes, lemons, plantain, bananas, guayaba, and papaya. The fruit feeds the people; the fruit sneaks their scents into the cacao pods. The chocolate bursts with fruity flavours. The tasting notes are lemon, bread, cherries, balsamic vinegar, brownies, and green bananas. My tasting notes are a fruit compote licking the tongue and sending vapours of more, more, more into the brain. A definite must buy.

I'm trying to make these bars last for three or four days so I can extend this wonderful experience in the midst of so much isolation.
