A flaky cheddar cheese pie crust filled with a homemade sweet and spicy apple pie filling.
The pre-cooked filling consists of peeled and sliced apples, minced roasted Hatch green chiles, piñons, white sugar, light brown sugar, ground cinnamon, nutmeg, tiny tapioca pearls, and lemon juice.
Shortly before removing the pie from the oven the top crust was brushed with an egg white wash, sprinkled with white sugar crystals, and garnished with additional piñons.
Cooled, sliced, and topped with whipped cream.
Beverage: Jackson Hole Soda’s ’Cowboy Cream Soda’.
