Creamy Cheesecake goodness in dip form a family favorite !
Pretty dessert for Valentines day or Christmas with the pretty red Cherry topping.
1/2 cup unsalted butter
1/2 cup light brown sugar, packed
1 - (8 oz) cream cheese, softened
1 cup powdered sugar
2 tsp vanilla extract
1 can (21 oz) cherry pie filling
Your choice of dippers, cookies , graham crackers , etc.
In your saucepan, melt butter add brown sugar and whisk until dissolved. When mixture begins to bubble, remove from heat and let cool.
In a mixing bowl, beat softened cream cheese with powdered sugar and vanilla until smooth. Add cooled butter mixture and beat till mixed
Spread into the bottom of a pie plate. Pour cherry pie filling over the top.
Eat as is or refrigerate until ready to enjoy (may be made a day ahead). I served with Nilla wafers ginger snaps and graham crackers.
Good with other flavor pie filling too!
We like it best after it sits out about 20-30 minutes and gets extra creamy .
